Hello! Sorry for the radio silence for pretty much the whole year, it’s been rather a busy one.
So I’m not going to make any excuses for the lack of communication on here but I will let you know what we have been up to.
You may, or may not, know us- I am Catherine, and the other Cake Lady is Mary, my Mother. We have been baking together for a few years now, and we’re not sick of it yet! For those of you that do know us, you will know that I gave birth to a gorgeous (I’m allowed to say that) boy in October of last year. I went back to my full time job in February (someone has to pay the mortgage) so between, Arthur, Work and Baking, my free time has been some what limited. Mary has also had quite a lot going on- she had two surgeries on her spine last year and although she is up and about, back to work as well as baking and babysitting her grandson (!) she still isn’t pain free.
We have cut down completely on attending markets and craft fairs, I think we have only attended one this year and that was only a few weeks ago at the Christmas light switch on in our home town. I do miss the customer interaction, but even a self confessed work-a-holic has to draw the line somewhere. Mary has been keeping busy with local orders for celebration and wedding cakes, while I have been attempting to put a little more time into our Etsy store. Though finding the time to make samples for taste testing and photographing has proven to be challenging. Especially when I now have a little person demanding my attention (which he always gets, usually in the form of dancing around the kitchen to Classic Rock, or making instruments out of the contents of the Kitchen cupboards!)
Easter, Hallowe’en and Christmas were pretty busy times for us, with lots of yummy brownies and flapjacks, creme egg scotch eggs, severed fingers, scaredy sprouts and snowmen cake pops being posted to all corners of the country. I’ll tell you more about these at a later date, but for now I will say ‘See ya later Alligator’ as it is getting late and you have done well to read this far through my wafflings!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and here’s to a fabulous New Year!
Lots of Love
Catherine xxx
PS. Don’t you just love the beautiful new logo designed by my very talented friend? I will find a link for you later so you can check out her other artwork and creations.
